About

The Graduate College of Education Data Kitchen website is part of compliance for the accredited credentials program indicated in the common standard four of the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). This requirement involves continuing improvement where the education unit develops and implements a comprehensive continuous improvement process at the unit and program levels, identifying effectiveness and making appropriate modifications based on findings.

The unit’s Improvement Cycle ensures that the unit and its programs (including those outside of the Graduate College of Education) follow a regular process of collecting, discussing and applying data to improve our programs and services. The Improvement Cycle Schedule is organized by Candidate Performance and Program Effectiveness. As data are collected, they are reviewed, organized, aggregated and posted for use or shared with department chairs in college meetings, department meetings and program meetings.

The education unit at SF State uses multiple sources of data. These data are accessible to all faculty and staff in the unit through our “Data Kitchen” or through their departments. All chairs have access to the data queries created by the college Assessment/Accreditation unit.

The access to tools offered to assess effectiveness is limited to faculty, staff and administration of the credential programs.
